What is a Lusch mechanism?

Our patented Lusch lifting and support mechanism is a steel mechanism that is much like the chassis of an automobile. It allows the footrest to telescope underneath the seat for an elegant style line while providing the comfort of a fine European touring automobile. The Lusch mechanism is only available on our patented recliner models.

How much does a single seat weigh? Do I have to bolt my seats to the floor?

A single motorized CinemaTech Seat weighs approximately 125-150 pounds. There is no need to ever bolt down a CinemaTech Seat.

I love your seats but don\'t want leather. Do you offer coverings other than leather?

CinemaTech is happy to use your own selected fabric (COM) or you can choose from our selection of Butterfly fabrics (microfiber that feels like an ultra suede) available in over 20 different colors.

Can I add motors after I order my CinemaTech Seating?

No, the housing to hold the motor is welded to the steel frame of the seat at the time of manufacturing. However, all incliner seating models come standard with motorization. Our recliners are the only option when needing a non-motorized seat.

Why would I use a wedge instead of a straight arm between seats?

Curving or creating a radius in your seating produces an intimate and relaxed atmosphere and it also helps point the viewer to the middle of the screen, making every seat the “money seat”.

I am over 6 feet tall and most seats do not support me. Does CinemaTech have an answer?

Yes, all of CinemaTech\'s ACT I seating models (incliners or recliners) are available in our PROFESSIONAL ATHLETE (PA) style. The PA is a full 3 inches taller than the standard height version. Some seats (i.e. the Le Grande and Lonestar) come available standard as 44” as incliners and when specified with the high back option are 48” from the ground to the top of the headrest when fully upright.

Can we order a love seat or sofa?

Yes, all CinemaTech Seating is custom ordered. You may specify ANY seating combination you desire.

What is the difference between an Incliner and a Recliner?

The Zero-Wall Incliner has redefined the possibilities of any size home theater by adding the ability to place seating directly up against a wall or bar in the back of the room. This means you can add that extra row while still offering your guests the ability to fully incline comfortably in an ergonomically designed Incliner. Opposed to our Recliners, that though the movement is more ergonomically correct, requires roughly 24” behind the seat for a full recline.

The leather on my CinemaTech seats is beautiful. How do I keep it looking like new?

Leather should be routinely wiped (twice a month) clean of dust and other dirt to prevent cracking. Do not use dusting agents, such as spray polishes. A cloth, lightly dampened with warm water and Ivory soap, will suffice. In addition to routine wiping, leather should be cleaned using a leather care kit twice a year. Stains, such as food, soda, beer, ink, etc., should be cleaned immediately with the leather care kit. If the seats "squeak" during movement, leather polish should be applied to leather areas that rub against each other. If leather seems to be excessively wrinkled in certain areas, it is possible to remove some of the wrinkles by using a hair dryer. Holding the dryer approximately 7 inches from the leather, set dryer to warm and use sweeping motions across the wrinkled area until leather tightens.
